Turmeric Tea Recipe

So the season is changing and you might be facing some nagging cold, feeling sick and lethargic. Whip up a batch of this soothing Turmeric Tea if you are feeling low and needs a health boost.

Turmeric is a staple in Indian kitchens. Not only it adds a rich color and flavor to the recipes it is also a powerful medicinal root. It has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine. Turmeric is a powerhouse of a chemical compound know as Curcumin. Curcumin has incredible health benefits. It has powerful Anti-Inflammatory, Anti-Cancer, and Anti-Oxidant properties.
Apart from turmeric, I have also used Ginger and Black Pepper in this tea recipe.
Ginger is a medicinal treasure and has been a widely used herbal remedy to treat cold, chronic cough, digestive disorders, constipation and much more. Ginger also assist with weight management by preventing metabolic disorders and reduce unwanted food cravings.Black Pepper is a healing spice used in Ayurvedic medicine. It relieves respiratory disorders, coughs, common cold, and indigestion. It also helps in dealing with weight loss in a natural way.

Serving: 1

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/8 tsp dry ginger powder
  • 1/8 tsp dry black pepper powder
  •  1 cup water

  •  Add water to a teapot or saucepan, cover and bring to a boil.
  • Place turmeric, ginger and black pepper powder in a cup. Pour hot water over the top. Cover the cup with small plate or lid. Steep for at least 4-5 minutes before taking it.
  • Consume this tea twice a day. I usually take one in the mid-afternoon snack time and one at night time before sleep. I sleep well as well as it relieves and soothes my sore throat. This tea is also an Immunity Booster.
  • If you want you can make a big batch using the same proportion of the ingredients. Store it in the airtight container. It stays good for months. Avoid using a wet spoon when taking out the tea mix to prevent spoilage.
