                                    DIY FLOATING RANGOLI

I am not a very good rangoli artist. I always wondered how people create beautiful art work with dry colors. Rangoli always fascinates me. But one thing I always felt bad is after putting so much effort, in a day or two the artist has to clean up the artwork. Unlike other artworks its not permanent.

This gave me the idea to make the floating rangoli and this time it can be cherished and displayed forever.

So lets unfold the process and have fun.

Gather your Supplies:

  • Pencil
  • Colored foam sheets
  • Paint Brush
  • Sketch Pens or Sharpies
  • Water Colors
  • 3 D Paint
  • Varnish
  • Scissors

1. Draw a flower shape. You can draw any flower shape you like.

2.Now outline the flower with some bold colors. I used dark green color for the yellow sheet. You can use red, orange etc. Now start adding water colors to achieve the desired result. Use color combinations you like. Its a blank canvas fill you own colors. Let the water colors dry.

3.Now its time to use 3D paint to give the flowers some dimension. I used red, yellow, green and golden 3D paint.

4.Once you are satisfied with the look of flower and the paint has dried, its time to protect this masterpiece. Varnish time.
Apply at least 3 coats of varnish. Let the varnish dry in between coats.
